Seattle Foundation's GiveBIG

GiveBIG on Wednesday, May 15

Support the Washington Oral Health Foundation this coming Wednesday!

The Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG is a one-day, online charitable giving campaign to inspire people to give generously to nonprofit organizations in our area.  This will be the first year that WOHF is participating in the GiveBIG day, and we hope it is an opportunity for new donors to show support for the Foundation. GiveBIG is a great opportunity, because Seattle Foundation will match a portion of our donations.

Each donation made to WOHF through the Seattle Foundation website between midnight and 11:59pm (Pacific Time) on May 15, 2013, will go directly to WOHF.  In addition, WOHF will receive a pro-rated portion of the GiveBIG matching funds from Seattle Foundation, called a stretch pool.Funds raised for WOHF through the GiveBIG day will purchase two-minute sand timers to put into our hygiene kits for children all over the state.

Funds raised for WOHF through the GiveBIG day will purchase two-minute sand timers to put into our hygiene kits for children all over the state.

These kids will receive the WOHF oral health education presentation, and then get a hygiene kit complete with toothbrush, toothpaste, floss AND (with your help) a new two-minute sand timer to create awareness about brushing for two minutes, two times per day.

A $25.00 donation provides timers to one classroom, a $300.00 donation provides timers to an entire school.

What YOU can do:

Forward/Send this to anyone who would be interested in making an online donation to WOHF, to help provide two-minute timers to 10,000+ children across Washington.
Mark your calendar for May 15, or set an alarm on your phone to donate that day.

From all of us at WOHF, including our Board of Directors and our Corporate Partners in Prevention, thank you for considering a donation on May 15th.

Washington State Science Engineering Fair

The Washington Oral health Foundation provides three special awards to students in grades 1-5, grades 6-8, and grades 9-12 at the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair, to student's that exemplify the values of oral health and the Science of Dentistry via basic science research or demonstrating the relationship between Good Oral Health and Overall Health.

It is only in recent years that we have become fully aware of the importance of good oral health to an individual’s overall health. To encourage and promote this idea to students, the Washington Oral Health Foundation and the Washington State Dental Association wish to spotlight these student's science projects that depict the importance of oral health and the science behind it.
